■前時までの復習p.70

 Unit5のPart 1〜3の授業内容(気候変動,植林活動,再生可能エネルギーについての話)について,Q&A などを通じて,簡単に振り返ります。
・生徒が本文の内容に興味を持てるようにしましょう。
・この単元は,他教科の教員と連携する良い機会になります。

【会話例】
T: In Unit 5, we learned a lot about environmental topics.
  What did we learn?
S1: We learned that climate change causes many problems such as global warming, rising sea levels, and droughts.
T: Then, what causes climate change?
S2: CO2 emissions are the main cause.
T: We need to reduce CO2 emissions.
  What can we do?
S3: We can plant trees.
T: Yes. Why is it a good idea to plant trees?
S4: Trees absorb CO2 and emit oxygen.
  This could solve the problem.
T: Do you remember how much CO2 one person in Japan emitted in 2021?
S5: About 8.5 tons.
T: Right. That would be 300 times more than in Congo.
  We need to think seriously about this issue.
  What should we do?
S6: We should use energy derived from natural sources.
  Nearly 90% of CO2 emissions are from fossil fuels that we use every day.
  We must stop using them.
T: Great. Today, we are going to learn about one of the natural sources, hydrogen.
  Maybe you have studied hydrogen in science class.
  It is better to use a science textbook.

■Speaking 活動Step 3(p.71)

 Retelling活動を行う際,個人でするか,ペアやグループでするかは生徒の実態に合わせて調整しましょう。
・練習時間を十分に確保し,発表に自信を持たせます。
・習熟度に応じて,スクリプトを用意するか検討しましょう。
 (キーワードのみでRetellingできるようにします。)
・必要に応じて,p.108のスクリプトを活用しますが,丸暗記にならないように注意しましょう。

★Retelling の手順
(1)本文のinput(Listening 活動,Reading 活動)
(2)本文の音読
(3)各スライドの内容整理(キーワードの確認)
(4)練習(個人・グループ)
(5)発表

【発話例】
T: Today, we are going to introduce Hina's presentation to other people who do not know it very much.
  We need to understand the presentation in detail.
  Please check the flow of the presentation with your partner and focus on the key words of each slide.
  Do you need any other key words for slide 1?
S1: “Company” is needed because Hina visited a company that deals with hydrogen.
T: That's a good idea!
  What about slide 2?
 (同様に,各スライドに追加したいキーワードをクラス全体で確認する。)
・スクリプトと全く同じにならないようにしましょう。
・ However, so, because などの接続詞を使用するよう促しましょう。

【発話例】
T: Try hard to practice your presentation without a script.
  After you practice, let's have a small presentation!
 (各自でRetelling の練習をする。その後,グループになり練習する。)
・ 練習中,教師は机間巡視をして,必要に応じてアドバイスしましょう。

■Speaking 活動Step 3(p.72)

 発表の形態(ペア,グループ,全体)は,生徒の実態に合わせて選択します。

【発表例】
 I'm going to take the following actions to save energy at home.

1. Turn Off Lights
When you leave a room, make sure to turn off the lights. This small action can save a lot of energy over time.

2. Unplug Devices
Many electronics consume energy even when they're turned off. Unplug chargers, TVs, and computers when you're not using them.

3. Use Energy-Efficient Appliances
If you need to buy new appliances, look for those that are energyefficient. They may cost a little more upfront, but
they will save you money on your energy bills in the long run.

4. Adjust the Air Conditioner
In winter, try lowering your air conditioner by just a few degrees. In summer, raise it a bit. This can make a big difference in your energy usage.

5. Use Natural Light
Open your curtains during the day and let in natural light instead of using lamps and lights. It's a great way to brighten up your home and save energy!

6. Take Shorter Showers
Reducing the time you spend in the shower can save both water and energy needed to heat it.

 By making these small changes, we can all play a part in saving energy at home. It not only helps the environment, but it can also lower our utility bills.
Let's work together to create a more sustainable future.
