交通手段や序数の言い方を復習し,電車やバスなどの交通機関を利用した道案内の表現の導入につなげます。
T:Today, we are going to talk about transportation system. What kinds of transportation system do we have in Japan?
S:Trains, shinkansen, subway, bus, taxi, ship, bicycle ...
T:Good. Do you use any transportation system to come to school? How do you come to school? Let's ask your friends.
(ペアやグループで通学方法をたずね合わせます。)
T:How do you come to school, S1?
S1:I walk to school.
T:Good. How about you, S2? How do you come to school?
S2:I come to school by bus.
T:Me, too. I use the bus when I come to school. It takes about 15 minutes. Around our school area, we often use buses. Now, look at the chart.
(学校近隣の実際のバスの路線図を簡略化したものを黒板に貼る,あるいはスクリーンで見せます。)
T:What is the nearest bus stop from our school?
S:Sakura station.
T:That's right. Sakura station is here. Here is the first stop, Sakae-machi. What's the second bus stop?
S:Shimoda-bridge.
などと続く。

■Oral Introduction 例2あこがれの職業についてスピーチ原稿を書いて発表する
クイズを通して職業を表す英語を復習します。
T:Today, we are going to think about our future. We are going to have speeches about our future or future job. What do you want to be in the future? Before reading the textbook, why don't we enjoy quizzes about jobs? I'll give you some hints. If you know the answer, raise your hands. Are you ready?
【Q1. I work for sick people. I work at the hospital. I'm not a doctor. Who am I?】
S:Nurse.
T:That's right. Next,【Q2. I like animals. I work at the zoo. I feed animals and take care of them. Who am I?】
S:Zookeeper.
などと続く。
T:You know many kinds of jobs. Let's share. You can talk with your friends. Name more than five occupations [jobs]. Let's start.
