T:Do you like comedy or funny stories?
S:Yes.
T:There are many kinds of comedy. Can you think of any?
S:漫才,ラブコメ,ブラックコメディー……
T:Good. For example, in Japan, we have rakugo. Rakugo is a traditional Japanese stroytelling. Now, rakugo is loved in other countries, too. It is translated into English. Today, we are going to read a rakugo story in English. In the next lesson, after we read this story, we are going to try reading it aloud.
