接続詞 if / because / that

■ターゲット文法の練習例接続詞 if

　教科書p.33のPracticeは，例から4までで1つのストーリーになっています。同様にペアでストーリーを考えて文を作らせましょう。

★進め方
（1）教科書p.33のPracticeを参考にして，ペアで If I'm free から文を作るように指示します。
（2）帰結節の内容を工夫し，3文以上作ることを目標にして取り組むように伝えます。
（3）3文以上作れたペアをほめ，クラスで発表させてもよいでしょう。

例）
If I'm free, I'll stay home.
→ If I stay home, I will play a video game.
→ If I play a video game, my mother will get angry.
→ If my mother gets angry, I will stop playing a video game.
→ If I stop a video game, I will feel sleepy.

■ターゲット文法の導入例接続詞 because

　黒板にアニメキャラクターの絵を数枚貼り，生徒に問いかけながら，接続詞 because の形や用法を導入します。

T：Look at the blackboard. Which character do you like, S1?
S1：I like Chibimaruko-chan.
T：Why do you like her?
S1：She is cute.
T：I see. Everyone, S1 likes Chibimaruko-chan because she is cute. S2, how about you?
S2：I like Conan.
T：Why?
S2：He is clever.
T：I see. Everyone, S2 likes Conan because he is clever. O.K. How about you, S3?
S3：I like Kamado Nezuko.
T：Why?
S3：She is kind.
T：O.K. Do you understand why S3 likes Kamado Nezuko?
S：Yes. S3 likes Kamado Nezuko because she is kind.
T：Great! Do you understand the meaning of "because"? What does "because" mean in Japanese?
S：なぜなら。
T：That's right. One more. S4, which character do you like?
S4：I like Anpanman because he is strong.
T：O.K. S4 likes Anpanman because he is strong. And we also say it like this: Because Anpanman is strong, S4 likes him. We can change the first sentence and the second sentence. Do you understand?
S：Yes.

■ワンポイントアドバイス接続詞 that

　生徒になじみのある動詞want（〜がほしい）は目的語にthat節をとらないことに注意するよう伝えましょう。
