　教科書p.19の写真を用いて，この単元で何を学ぶかの見通しを立てます。

【会話例】
T：Everyone, please look at the pictures on page 19.
　 What are they? S1, what's your idea?
S1：They are festivals.
T：That's true. Did you join any festivals last year?
S2：Yes. I joined the Gion Festival.
T：Wow. How was that?
S2：I'm so excited.
（数名の生徒とやりとりをします。教科書p.19のListenを聞き，最後の質問に答えます。）
Q：What festivals do you know?
（Unit Goalを確認し，Part 1の学習へとつなぎます。）
T：As you can see, there are many festivals in Japan.
　 In this Unit, the topic is festivals in the world.

　Hinaのスピーチに関する質疑応答を通して，新出文法の導入，確認をします。

【会話例】
T：Where is Hina going to go this summer?
S1：She is going to go to Kyoto City.
T：Why?
S2：To take part in the Gion Festival.
T：She is going to go to Kyoto City to take part in the Gion Festival. Everyone, repeat.
S：She is going to go to Kyoto City to take part in the Gion Festival.

■Oral Introduction

　教科書p.22の地図や写真を用いて，生徒とやりとりをし，取り扱う題材について確認します。

【発話例】
T：Everyone, please look at these pictures on page 22.
　 I have some questions. Please answer in English.

【質問例】
Q：You can see the map.
　 Taiwan is located near Japan.
　 Do you know anything about Taiwan?

【発話例】
T：After this, we're going to learn about the festivals in Taiwan.
　 And, you're going to research festivals in other countries.
　 Let's enjoy learning about festivals in other countries.
