Sloths [対話文] / 動物の生態を紹介する

■Oral Introduction 例Sloths [対話文]

　本文の場面設定を中心にOral introductionを行います。

T：Did you visit a zoo?
S：Yes, I did.
T：What animals did you see?
S：I saw giraffe, panda, koala...
T：Nice! Well, today, we are going to read about an animal that you can see at the zoo. These animals are very slow and are called namakemono in Japanese. Do you know about them?
S：Yes, but only a little.
T：In English, they are called sloths. Now, I'll give you three questions about sloths. Discuss in pairs and try to guess the answers to the questions.

　5〜10分程度ペアで話し合わせてから，5〜6ペアから回答を聞き，全体で共有します。

■表現活動例動物の生態を紹介する

　生徒全員がタブレット端末を持っており，パワーポイントでファイルを作れる環境にあれば，次のような活動で発表する機会を与えることもできます。

★プレゼンの準備
・タブレット端末を用いて，個人でスライドを作成させます。スライドは，画像とキーワードのみにし，英文は不可とします。
・宿題として，スライドの完成とプレゼンの練習をしてくるように伝えます。

★ペアでプレゼン
（1）机を向かい合わせ，ペアでプレゼンをさせます。じゃんけんで負けた方から始め，聞く側はコメントや質問をします。お互いに終わったら，良かったところと改善すべきところを言い合わせます。

A：I'll talk about ostriches. The ostrich can run faster than a horse and can reach a speed of 70 km per hour. They are so powerful. They can run without taking a rest for more than an hour. Thank you. Do you have any questions?
B：Do you like fast animals?
A：Yes, I do.
B：Then, do you like cheetahs?
A：No, I don't.
B：Why not?
A：Because cheetahs eat ostriches.
B：Really?
A：Really.
などと続く。

（2）パートナーを変えて同様に行います。
（3）これを5回くらい繰り返します。
（4）発表したい生徒を募り，クラス全体に向かって発表をさせます。コメントを忘れず伝えるようにしましょう。
