　教師やALTがcanを使って自己紹介します。

T：I'm ○○. I'm an English teacher. I'm from ○○. I have a pet. It’s a dog. I like dogs very much. I like music too. My favorite singer is ○○. I have many CDs. I am good at cooking. I can cook good curry. I can play the guitar. I'll show you now. Listen! （実演します。）Can you play the guitar, S1?

T：How about you, S2? Can you play the guitar?

T：O.K. 今日は，このようにcan「〜することができる」について学習します。皆さんは小学校のときにcanを勉強しましたね。中学校ではもう一度確認をし，使い方のルールをマスターして，相手にたずねたり，答えたり，そしてそれが書けるようにしていきます。

　生徒がよく知っている学校の先生の写真を見せ，Who is〜?と質問し，答えさせます。

T：Look at this picture. Who is this man?
S：Mr. Hayashi!
T：Right! He's Mr. Hayashi. He's ...?
S：Math teacher.
T：Yes! He's a math teacher. Next, who is this woman?
S：Ms. Okamoto!
T：Right! She's Ms. Okamoto. She's ...?
S：Japanese teacher.
T：Yes! She's a Japanese teacher. Next, who is this man?
S：Mr. Yamanaka!
T：That's right! He's Mr. Yamanaka. He's ...?
S：P.E. teacher.
T：Yes! He's a P.E. teacher.
（生徒が知らなさそうな有名人の写真を見せます。）
T：O.K. Then, how about this man? みんな知らない人物ですか？ Then, ask me! Repeat after me. Who is this man?
S：Who is this man?
T：He's Koseki Yuji （古関裕而）. He's a musician. He made the Hanshin Tigers' song. 今日は，このように知らない人についてたずねたり，答えたりすることを学習します。

■ターゲット文法の練習例whoを使う疑問文

　教科書p.59のPracticeが終わり，時間に余裕があればスポーツ選手，歌手，アーティスト，タレントなどの写真を用意し，黒板に貼って，生徒にそれを見せながらペアで会話させます。

A：Who's that man?
B：He's Otani Shohei. He's a baseball player. He's cool. I like him.
A：Yeah, I like him, too. He's really cool.
