Where's the cat?／位置・場所（1）

■扉／導入のSmall Talk例

　Unit 7では、ものの位置や場所を聞き取ったりたずねたりできること、また、場所を案内できるようになることを目標にしています。
　教科書p.78〜79の見開きの絵を使って、動物探しのやりとりをしましょう。

T：Open your textbook to pages 78 and 79.
　 This is Mr.Smith's house.
　 He has many pets.
　 He has a cat, a snake, a rabbit, a hamster, a monkey, a pig, and a bird.
　 They are hiding somewhere.
　 Can you find them?

　児童に動物を探させてから答え合わせをします。

T：Where is the cat?
S1：かばんの中！
T：That's right!
　 The cat is in the bag.
　 Where is the pig?
S2：テーブルの下！
T：That's right!
　 The pig is under the table...

　前置詞は強調して繰り返しましょう。

■Activity／Small Talk伝言ゲーム

　教科書p.81「Actovity」の部屋に、指導者が絵カードを置きます。列の先頭の児童に置いた場所を伝えて、伝言ゲームをさせましょう。

T：Let's play 伝言ゲーム!
　 The first students, please come to me and ask, “Where's the bag?"
　 I'll say, “It's under the table."
　 Next, the second student ask the first student, “Where's the bag?"
　 The first student says, “It's under the table."
　 And please go on to the last student.
　 The last student puts the card in the box of the picture on page 81.

　やり方を伝えるときは、デモンストレーションをまじえて、わかりやすく説明しましょう。児童が理解していない様子を示したら、日本語で説明しましょう。

■Step 2／導入のSmall Talk例

　教科書p82〜83の見開きの地図を通して、位置を表すざまざまな言い方を覚えます。

T：Look at the map on pages 82 and 83.
　 Where's the park?
S：It's next to the hospital.
T：Yes. It's next to the hospital.
　 It's between the hospital and the zoo.
　 There are many ways to describe where the park is.
　 Make pairs and ask each other, “Where's...?” and answer, “It's....”

■Activity家の場所

　ワークシートを活用した活動を行います。
　まず、「自分の家」の場所を決めるよう指示しましょう。

T：Pick the location of your house from three squares.

　その後、 ペアまたはグループで「自分の家」の場所をたずね合い、相手の家の場所をワークシートに書くように指示します。

T：Ask each other, “Where's your house?”
