Let's Read 2／I want to join the brass band.

■Let's Read 2 「アリとキリギリス」

　イソップ童話のひとつ「アリとキリギリス」を読みます。絵を見ながら物語を聞き、概要を捉えさせます。音声で十分に慣れ親しんだ語や表現を文字で識別できるようにしましょう。

【導入】
絵を見ながら登場人物を確認し、物語のあらすじを尋ねましょう。

■I want to join the brass band.／導入

　p.92-93の見開きイラストを見ながら、児童と部活動についてやり取りをします。部活動のピクチャーカードを示しながら話すと、児童も理解しやすいでしょう。

T：Open your textbook to pages 92 and 93.
　 This is a picture of junior high school.
　 Many students are doing club activities.
　 What do you see in this picture?
　 What are they doing?
S：Swimming.
T：Yes, some students are swimming.
　 I think they are on the swimming team.
　 Do you want to join the swimming team?
　 What else do you see?
S：Basketball.
T：Yes, they are playing basketball in the gym.
　 It’s the basketball team.
　 Do you see some computers?
　 Point to the picture.
　 It’s a computer room.
　 They are in the computer club.
　 Look at the room above the computer room, some students are singing.
　 What club is it?...
　 What club do you want to join?

■ActivityWhat club do you want to join?

　中学校でやってみたい部活動について伝え合う活動をします。
　4人グループをつくり、3人それぞれとペアなり、やってみたい部活動を尋ね合うように指示します。このとき、「ワークシート」(8-1)を活用してもよいでしょう。
　必要に応じて、語句や表現の確認をしておきましょう。

【導入】
Make groups, please. Look at “Activity” No. 1.
Write down your group members’ names.
Make pairs in your group. And ask each other.
